International Conference “Role of the Modern Technologies in Elections: Improvement of Standards, Public Trust”
Giorgi Sharabidze Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia and Tamaz Sharmanashvili Advisor to Chairperson of the CEC participated in the international conference dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Conference on “Role of the Modern Technologies in Elections: Improvement of Standards, Public Trust” was held in Astana. Giorgi Sharabidze during his presentation talked about activities implemented for boosting voter confidence by the Election Administration (EA) of Georgia and the services offered to voters. The presentation sparked huge interest among participants. As a result, representatives of Election Management Bodies (EMBs) participating in the conference agreed on future cooperation with the CEC of Georgia for sharing experiences.
During the two-day conference, participants of the conference were sharing their experiences and discussing the following matters: “Elections and modern technologies”, “Modernization of the electoral system amidst the technology progress”, "Elections and sociology: public confidence in electoral processes", "Democratic elections: responsibility of youth and public well-being” and so forth.
The international conference was held on November 1-2 in Astana. Representatives of state entities of Kazakhstan as well as representatives of EMBs from different countries and international organizations working on electoral issues participated in the event.
