Roundtable 22 November, 2011
Accuracy of voters’ lists was discussed within the framework of the Roundtable, organized on November 22, 2011. The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) jointly organized the roundtable on the above mentioned issue.
In order to discuss the accuracy of voters’ lists the representatives from the CEC, Parliament of Georgia, Commission for Ensuring the Accuracy of Voters’ Lists, international and local NGOs, local civil society from Tbilisi as well as from the regions and international experts participated in the roundtable at Courtyard Marriot Hotel. The CEC Chairman opened the event.
The Roundtable consisted of four working sessions focusing on international standards, good practices, Georgian experiences in developing voter lists, and further steps in developing accurate lists.
Presentations have been made by the representatives of OSCE-ODIHR, IFES, CEC, International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), Association of European Election Officials (ACEEEO) and the Civil Registry Agency Georgia, among others.
