Elections of the Mayor
The Mayor of the Self-governing City and the Mayor of Self-governing Community is elected every 4 years. Elections shall be called by the President of Georgia, by cosigning of the Prime-Minister of Georgia, before the 60 days to the expiry of the term of authority of Mayor.
A Georgian citizen having attained the age of 25, lived in Georgia for at least five years and having electoral suffrage may be elected as a member of the Mayor of the Self-governing City/Community.
A candidate shall be considered elected in the election of the Mayor, who has received more than 50% of votes cast by voters participating in the elections. The number of votes recorded on invalid ballot papers shall not be included in the number of votes cast in the election.
